Monday . . .

Well, we all can now say the first chapter of the book of James. We started doing Boy, Have I Got Problem by Kay Arthur on Aug. 6th (that was our first day of school). Our goal is to be able to say from memory the whole book of James by May 1st 2008.

What I have learned so far:

To be joyful in all things. (James 1:2)

Even in the small things like ironing.

In faith ask wisdom from God (James 1:5,6)

I can ask God till I am blue in the face for something, but it's not until I ask on my knees with my heart open dose He hear me.

Be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger (James 1:19)
This is a BIG one for me. Most of the time I have this backwards. I am so quick to react. Lets just say I am W.I.P.( a work in progress).

Bridle my tongue (James 1:26)
Should I really say anything here? I catch myself starting to speak and then I remember this verse and say something else or nothing at all.

Keep oneself unstained by the world (James 1:17)
Day to day this is a battle. I can get so caught up in all the stuff. Then at the end of the day what counts? What counts is my faith, family and friends.

My faith: I am in the middle of a LOW point, in which I am climbing up the hill from the valley that I have been in the past year. It feels good to be on the up. This is the blessing from this bible study.

My family: Oh, how thankful I am for my husband. He makes me such a better person. On Oct 4th we celebrated our 10th wedding anv. We spent 3 whole days by ourselves. It was so relaxing. The past 10 years I have grown so much, mostly I have matured (remember I am a only child :)!) I look forward to the next 10 years. Its a blessing to be a mother to two loving girls. The are close like friends should be and yet are different in the ways God had made them. My prayer is that their relationship will become stronger with each passing year. My parents and my in-laws are strong in their faith with the Lord. This is something I have learned is a blessing. Some of my friends do not have this.

My friends: They are close to my heart. With the crazy lives each of us live it is hard to get together. But we make a point to reach out to each other and check in. They are in my daily prayers.

One chapter down 3 more to go. As my daughter says, "Let Get To It!"

Have a great day with Our Lord!
Thanks for reading:)!

Don't you love the word? It is convicting but at the same time it brings us to freedom. Freedom from our selves and free to be what God wants us to be. Thank you for sharing what you are learning from the word. James is so convicting! Isn't it?

Blessings to you,
Tammy
