Hello all,
Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop and ask for special prayers this Friday @ 11:24 for Scottlyn. That is the time she will be playing at the Georgia State Piano Competition at the University of Georgia. Scottlyn knows it is just an "honor" to be attending at the state level. She will be competing at the 4th grade level. This is the youngest state level that you can compete at. Thank you for your prayers and words / letters of encouragement that you have told or sent her. Below is the information that her teacher sent us:
"I spoke to a teacher in Athens. She said that very few students will get a rating. Each will get a certificate and a comment sheet. 97% of the contestants are Asian and they practice 2-3 hours a day. It is considered a great honor just to qualify for State and being there is considered icing on the cake. Please explain this to the kids. I did not know that few got a rating, but the comments will be helpful. They will be sent in the mail, so it is not necessary to wait around after playing. Also, be there at least 30 min. In advance. There are a few practice rooms and students will be allowed just a few min. As there are many participants. For ex. 90 4th graders alone. Thank you for participating. Remember, it is an HONOR!!"
