American Girl Treasures

Homeschoolers are very resourceful people. They use what they have and use them to their best ability. I know in our home many times people ask us how we use this or that for learning, and we are happy to explain it’s value. I think the main thing that a lot of people miss is that life is learning, and you must use everything in your home for learning otherwise you won’t fully be prepared.

THEME
This week I want to invite you to share what different games you use for learning in your homeschool. Outside games, board games, or card games, and what purpose or subject you use them for.

Here is a NEW game for us that we found last Christmas:

American Girl Treasures Game:

Product Description: Journey with the historical American Girl characters across a game board reminiscent of each of their stories and time periods. Players play as one of the characters, collecting keepsakes specific to that character's life and stories. Players draw trade cards and then travel to special "stores" in order to trade for the keepsakes they need. Each player has their own trunk in which to keep their collected items. The first player to collect four of their keepsakes and return home wins! Includes one game board, four trunks, eight American Girl movers, 110 cards and 64 keepsake tokens. For 2 to 4 players.

This game is an interactive way for girls to remember the various items that each American Girl had in the book series. Players learn how to strategize with the game cards in order to collect the "treasures" and advance in the game. (Math Skills come into use) I enjoyed playing the game with my daughters.

I look forward to seeing what everyone else wrote . . . get some new ideas for Christmas.
One REQUEST: We are getting a Wii for Christmas. If you can give suggestions on games that your family enjoys I would be grateful. Also the girls are getting Nintendo DS, any suggestions on games for that as well would be wonderful.
In His Mighty Love,
Trina

All time best Wii games: Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy, Lego Indiana Jones, and Lego Batman. Our whole family loves playing those games!!!! They are also the best selling games of all time BTW.

What a fun-looking game. My DD would have LOVED this when she was younger. I'm sure she'll buy it for her girls when they get older. She gets the AG catalog. AG began when my DD was about 11 or 12--just a bit old for the books. sigh. But I love AG!

Wow, what a neat looking game. My daughter just joined an American Girl book club. I am going to ask and see if any of the girls already have this game.

Our Wii is new. We just have the games it came with and we bought Mario Karts.(they love it!) My parent's just bought us a Wii Fit and we all use it and like it!! :)

My daughter really likes Cooking Mama, too. You can get that for DS or the Wii Fit.
