Making Your Home Sing Monday

Making your home sing Mondays
"Making Your Home Sing Monday." It's a day when we share what we are doing to bless our families in our home. If you would like to join in, click here.

School was over at the end of April and now all the craziness that happens in our family the first few weeks of May has ended. FREEDOM!!

This week I am going to do some deep cleaning of our school room: end of year reports, reorganizing our books shelves and the closet. This is not what I really would like to spend my time doing; what I really want to do is go to the lake. But I know this must get done. Also I need to start doing lesson plans for July when we return back to a full day of school.

Also my daughter is in need of some much needed one on one time with mommy. I want to stop what I am going and hold her a little longer. Brush her hair and have some heart to heart talks with her. I am so blessed to be a mommy and so very blessed to be her mommy. A moment is a gift . . .

Growing in HIM,
Trina

I always have big plans for the summer after the school year is finished. But you're right, all I really want to do is play, lol!

Our homeschool year runs late August or early Sept. until the end of May (with a couple of holiday vacations). So we have June through most of August off.

I know some people who homeschool for six-nine weeks on, and three weeks off, then six to nine weeks on again, etc. They do it all year around.

Everybody is different. Our school is ending soon and I am looking forward to a break too!

Enjoy some mommy-daughter time and hope you get lots done this week!

Thank you for joining us today!

We've decided to do year round (kinda sorta) school...it just works better for us. Enjoy your time your your daughter...she'll be heading off to college before you know it (this I know for sure- #1 moved to the dorms last September...how could that be...he's supposed to be 8!)...

So, clean and tidy, but hug and giggle...the chores will always be there.

Have a terrific week!

We will be done with school in 2 weeks. I am beginning to think, though, that May would be a much better month to be off. There is so much to do in May. Maybe I'll have to work something into the schedule for next year.

I know you will enjoy your time with your daughter. They are growing up way too fast my friend!

Your blog is beautiful....(I found it from Jeannie's blog)

I love your focus on God and family.

It's just simply beautiful.

I just noticed your curriculum. We've never used Sonlight but my friend used it and she loved it.

We use a little of Bob Jones, Abeka, and we use Apologia for our Science. We used Rod & Staff for English at least till 6th grade anyway. Basic, inexpensive but great for English. Eventually we switched so they could have a workbook.

I would love to be finished with school next year by May. We are so busy with sports this time of year and it would be helpful to us.
Your plans sound very similar to mine when we finally finish school next week.
Blessings.
