Roots ~ May they grow Deep

Lynn is hosting Thankful Thursday this week and she asks how wisdom changed your life.

Happy Birthday Lynn!!!

As a child we were afraid to run toward the ocean alone. We felt a sense of panic in solitude and reach for a parents hand. As we aged we turned toward friends for that reassurance. We are often let down by them, because we place the bar to high for them. As we grow also in Christ we hold each persons hand a little more loosely and not see him or her as our main source of security.  God tells us not to trust people, not because He is unkind, but because He cares so deeply for us. He exhorts us to put out roots down deeply into Him, and Him alone.  This was taken from my bible study I am doing.

Lord, I am so thankful for the tugging that you do on my heart. Please continue to help me to grow closer to you. May I be still, that I might hear you call me by name. Guide and direct my path and help my roots to grow deep into You, and You alone.

Prayer . . . America's Hope

There is much to be thankful for, I am so thankful for prayer. Prayer is a  powerful gift that God has given us.  Prayer is our direct line to GOD. Today is the 58th Annual National Day of Prayer.  The theme for this year is "Prayer... America's Hope" and is based on the verse from Psalm 33:22 which states: "May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you."

Thankful Thursday . . .We are so Thankful for all of you prayers

I know that it is God at work that I post this update under Thankful Thursday! I just love this group of ladies . . . my sisters in Christ . . . I am so thankful every Thursday I have shared with you.

WOW . . . where do I start . . . It was yesterday that you pray that Dr.Jacqueline C. Castagno would get me in as soon as she could. Well yesterday afternoon I was given a date and time of: Dec.29 @ 8:30. That was fine . . . there are others that are in need more then I am. Well around 5:00 I got another call. She would like to see me this Friday @ 3:00. I was also told that she does not normally see any one on Friday? Why I didn't ask, I was just so grateful that she was going to see me. This is an answer to all of your prayers for me. Words can not begin to express how much each of your emails or post have meant to Tom and myself. I would like to share a few with you . . . As you read the words, my prayer is that you will feel God's warm love just as I do. I have left off the names . . . I know they would not mind me sharing if it can offer other support and encouragement in what ever trial they are going through.

  • Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. "In the world you have tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world." (John 16:32, 33)

  • And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

  • Be blessed in the name of the Lord who is your strength and your song (Isa. 12:2).

  • we love you very much and I thank God for bringing you into Sandra's and my life you are a true friend and please know that we will continue to pray that the peace of God be with you and your family in this time. knowing that the Christ that lives in you will overcome anything that this world puts in front of you. Luke 8:48 Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."

  • (((((huge hug))))) I am claiming healing for you right now. I have sent out prayer requests to the ladies I know will go on their knees petitioning God for his healing hand. I will ask my church to put you on their prayer list here as well.

Your email moved me to tears. I see you are resting peacefully in God's hands.

  • my husband and I learned to say, "We are not trusting in the odds, we are trusting in God."

  • I pray that Abba Daddy will be with Trina during this time and that He will also assist the doctors in the surgery. Pray that she too may recover completely to follow on in God's work here on earth. We thank You Abba for their is no other greater than You. You are worthy of all our praise and honor. Be with your child Trina through this surgery. AMEN

  • "Mightier than the thunder of the great waters
Mightier than the breakers of the sea
The Lord on High is Mighty"
    Ps 93:4

  • I know I don't have to suggest reading scripture to you but I will suggest this, sing. Alone or with the kids, sing....anything. Just walk around doing what you do singing. Third Day always makes me feel happy and better.....and small and humble at the same time.

    Mark, Psalm 93 is awesome.

  • There are no words to describe the journey your emotions will take you. BUT, there is no place that you, Tom and your children go that our Savoiur has not already gone to. And even in the most quiet of quiet moments He is there. I know this is true for He tells me in His word, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" and I hang on to it for dear life. No, life will never be the same, because we will see life as more, and see God as more, but would we really want to miss that?

  • Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  • "And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness" Deuteronomy 7:1

Tiany (all the ladies @ The Homeschool Lounge) and Rhonda (I am honored to be able to call you my friend) . . . words can not express the love that we have felt from you all . . . the CYBER world is so crazy . . . but God can use it to draw us together. Thank you for your support.

Again I am humbled by the love and support that the body of Christ extends to me and my family.

Resting in HIS arms,

Trina

In The Garden

Over the pass week I have been down on my knees in prayer over family members. It is so hard to watch them make the same mistakes over and over. You have extended them your help and they quickly dismiss it. Or they only want it on their terms. Why can't they see what they are doing to themselves? At their age you would think they would have learned. It is not the first time they have made this same mistake. If an outsider was looking in they would say they are in denial. You have thought the same thing too. But you are resolved to the simple fact that all you can do and say is I love you and I am praying for you. Their behavior has such a personal effect on you. It is heavy on your shoulders, it brings up personal memories that you have hidden away. With my eyes closed tight I retreat to the garden and walk with my savior. As I talk to Him I feel His reassurance around me. It feels as if the weight of this is lifted and He now is caring it for me. I am so THANKFUL for the comfort He extends to me. Daily giving this sorrow over to Him is what I have to do. Lord thank you for your faithfulness.

As a young child growing up in the church we would sing this song. I love the way Alan Jackson's voice sounds. I can close my eyes and be that little girl in church hearing the adults sing this on a Sunday mourning. I am also thankful for the sweet memories of the old church hymns.

Thankful Thursday

I am Thankful for my health!

A few weeks ago I found out that I had broken my leg. A month ago we were on our way home from a week at the beach and stopped for lunch. I had taken the dogs for a walk and some how step into a fire ant bed.(They were Alabama fire ants) The next afternoon my ankle became swollen. Going to the doctor and thinking that the swollen ankle was due to an reaction from the fire ants, he treated it with some steroid cream. So a month passed and it was still swollen he order me to have an ex ray. Come to find out that I had broken my fibula bone. Currently I am in an air cast for 3 more weeks and doing fine. Because I didn't know how I had broken it, the doctor order a bone scan and a visit to the osteoporosis doctor. My mother was told that she had the first signs of osteoporosis at a young age of 33. Knowing that it had me a little worried. This past Monday I got the results from the doctor and PRAISE the LORD my bones are as healthy as can be. I even have a high vitamin d count. So I am so grateful for my good health.

Pr 16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Lord, I am so grateful for Your word, that when we read it we receive the nourishment our souls need. May I be faithful to you as you are to me.

In His Mighty Love,

Trina

Restore us, O God;
make your face shine upon us.
Psalm 80:30

This is the time of year when I can feel most down. It’s winter and we spend much more time inside. The weather has so much to do with my mood. Dose it yours? I long for spring, just this mourning I saw the daffodil bulbs are beginning to poke out of the flower beds. So I know Spring is on it’s way. We all go through different seasons in our life and when we are down deep in a valley we turn our heads towards the mountain tops. We cry out,” Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us!” Speaking God’s word I can feel His spirit around me. It lifts me up! I am so thankful for my relationship with my heavenly father. I pray that you found encouragement when you read the verse.

Growing in Him,

Thankful Thursday

"If the Lord had not been on our side when men attacked us, then they would have swallowed us alive." Psalm 124:2-3, HCSB

I am thankful for the Lords faithfulness to me. Oh, How undeserving I am of it. Being a christian almost since I was a pre-teen. Have grown up in the church. Every time the doors were open I was their. Almost like a church rat. Yet, I ran away from God in search of something I didn't know. Looking back over the years I can see how God saved me from myself. From the wrong choices I have made, the people who I thought were the best thing for me, my attitude towards life and my attitude towards myself.

Thank you Lord for:

Staying with me even when I wasn't with you.

Placing Godly people in my life to help disciple me.

The blessing of my family.

Helping me to become an encourager to other who are where I have been.

Daily growing in HIM,

Trina
