Publix

Today, we had a NEW Publix open just 1 mile down the road from our house. We were so EXCITED. I should also say that both my husband and I grew up in Florida. Publix is a wonderful grocery store. On opening night they were having a cartoonist doing sketches. We all had ours done . . I hope you enjoy viewing them . . .they are funny!

Today is my oldest daughters birthday, she is 10 years old!! Here are just a few of pictures I would like to share with you.  I pray for her daily, thanks for your prayers as well. May God use her, for she is His child!!

My New Toy

Snap . . . I have wanted a new camera for so long now and Tom came home this afternoon with my early Mother's Day present . . . heehee. Now Tom would never go buy anything  like this brand new. He got it off Craiglist for a great deal. The guy who sold it to him just bought it back in June 08, he even bought an extended 4 year warranty that came with the camera. . . he paid $1,145.91 and my wonderful husband got it for $600.00 . . . .  sweet!! It also came with an extra battery. If any one knows of some great blog's out there to help me get to know my camera better. Please let me know.  Have a wonderful weekend.

New Cake, Sweet gift & the DAWGS!

Just wanted to share a few things:

Here is Scottlyn's cake that she made this week.

One of my sweet girls in my 8:00 American Girl "Kit" class that I teach on Tuesday's gave me her Cookie Bouquet that she made in "Cookie Decorating". It made my day ;)!

Here are some up dated pictures of June Bug and her baby Little Bug. They are just two cute together.

Meet & Share

The girls and I have been so blessed to be apart of a local "Meet & Share" group for the past six months. Looking back on the past five years I have been homeschooling, this has been on of the BEST things we have ever been apart of. It is made up of 5 family's (soon to be six), we meet monthly ans take turns hosting. The children age range is from 13 - 2. Each child shares one to 3 things that they have completed in school. Most of the children play the piano or violin as well and will share a music piece they have learned. We just meet on Wednesday and the girls recited the "Gettysburg Address" together with their Abe Lincoln hats they had made.

I must be honest with you and let you know that the mothers have just as much fun as the children. You could say it is a form of mental therapy!

As you can see here are some of the girls playing dress up and been oh so silly!

Cake #4 and update on 'Little Bug"

Here in Scottlyn's 4th cake. She used tip #2, # 21 & #104.

She will not do a cake next week due to her class service project.

Here is an updated picture of "little BUG", she will be four weeks old on saturday. She is learning how to stand. We have also started her on mush: water down puppy chow w/ goats milk.

Scottlyn's Chinese Brush Painting

Above on the next post you will see Scottlyn's Chinese Brush Painting. She is taking this class at Timothy Ministry on Tuesday's. Her first picture is on display right now at First Baptist Church of Woodstock with several other students. She did a wonderful job and we are all very proud of her. She still has 9 more weeks for this class. I will post more pictures when she brings them home.

Cake #3 and update on 'Little Bug"

Here is Scottlyn's third cake.

She is learning how to make teddy bears.
The cake said: Me! I also think she likes using the star tip.

"Little Bug" will be two weeks old on Saturday. . . here she is sleeping on her back (just like her mama) in her box. She has not opened her eyes yet but she has almost doubled in size.

Cake Decorating Cake # 2

Here is Scottlyn's second cake. She is learning how to write words.

The cake said: Welcome I'm Scottlyn Britt.

Then she added some music notes and a smiley face.

Cake Decorating: Cake #1

Scottlyn started "Cake Decorating" @ Timothy Ministry this session.

Here is her first try at using a star tip. Not bad for an 9 year old!

We will have a new cake each week for the next 14 weeks.

I wish I could send each of you a piece.

Easter Tomb!

Take a can of biscuits. Flatten out each biscuit out with your fingers. Tell your kids they are making a tomb. Take a large marshmellow and explain that this represents Jesus. Put the marshmellow on the biscuit and wrap the biscuit around the marshmallow. Make sure all edges are sealed (pinch until no seam). Put a pat of butter on top. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon to represent the spices that were put on Jesus. Bake as directed on package. You may have to guess at this. After cooked, the marshmallow melts and is gone. Explain how Jesus is not in the tomb, He is Risen!
