Making your home sing Mondays

Welcome to my first ever
"Making Your Home Sing Monday"  post.
A NEW dear friend of mine over at:

has turn me on to this mems. I so enjoyed reading her blog . . . she is a great encourager.

Have you ever had a time in your life where you heard God tell you the direction you should take but because of the control you like to have you choose not to obey? Well a little over a mouth ago I was at that cross road and this time I choose to obey God!!!

I am in a season where my family needs me 100% all the time. My oldest daughter is at the age where everything and everyone makes a lasting impression on her. I would love her to keep the rose color glasses on as long as she can.  Spending more time playing dress up, having tea parties and being the sweet little girl she has always been.  I would like to have more one on one time with her. Her sister is 2 1/2 years younger and in need of much of the same. I would like to start having personal bible studies with each of them weekly and continue our daily bible studies together. My husband has watch me face CANCER back in December and is in need of having more one on one time. I am in need of everything above . . . and more! :)

So this coming school year we will not be at Timothy Ministry. We have loved the last 7 years with them and have been blessed by so many different classes. I look at next year as a year to take more family trips and work more on our home skills (cooking, cleaning, sewing).

I received PEACE as soon as I gave up my control. A NEW excitement as come over me as I start to plan for the 09/10 school year.

Thanks for taking the time to visit me and letting me ramble on.

Resting in HIS arms,
Trina

After 20 years with my husband, he and I will both tell you that is the times we stopped trying to force things and just went with what we were be led to that our lives were the best...we've finally learned to listen to the voice, respond to the gentle pressure, and stop trying to force things to go "our" way...forcing things to go "our" way never turns out well and letting go of the control always does...go figure!

Oh I like to have the control too. It just makes me feel better to be "prepared" and have a plan, lol!

But God is teaching me to let Him have the control. Me having control is only an illusion anyway.

About four or five years ago we quit our homeschool co-op. As lovely as it was it just was one more thing in our schedule and was beginning to interfere with things at home and with our time.

I have never regretted giving that up. The freedom you create in your schedule for next year will be much appreciated, I am sure!

I am sorry you have had cancer. My brother is dealing with it too, and another gal I know from church, as well as my 12 year old niece is fighting it too. Not fun.

I noticed you twitter so I am going to follow you on there.

I am excited that you joined us today! Thank you so much for participating!

control is something I think I am so good at...but I have to remember that He is really the one in control.
He does give us choices...I am so glad you made the right choice and I pray that I am more willing to give up control.
great post.

What a great choice! Sometimes we can just take on so much and spin our wheels. I'm sure you won't regret the concentrated time with your family.

I'm sorry you have had to battle cancer. I pray you are clear and healthy now!

I am going to follow you. I hope you'll keep up with me as well.

Bless you!
Beth

I think us women like to have that "control" over certain things, or we feel like nobody else can do what we're doing. Once we give that over to the Lord, it's so freeing, and He also blesses us for being obedient to Him!!

Oh, I'm so glad you played along today. And you even mentioned me. I feel special!

I know what you mean about commitments. It's difficult sometimes to know what is important. But if we follow His leading, everything will work out in the end.

It was great meeting you this weekend. Hopefully we can get together again without having to wait until GHEA next year :o)

Oooh it is so hard to relinquish control. Don't know why cuz it drives me crazy when I can't get it right - so when I let go and Let God do His Good Work, things happen as they should. Sigh. It's tough being so hardheaded... Hardhearted... Human... Thankfully our God loves us anyway!
