Weekly Chores & Task ~ Makes my home SING :)

Making your home sing Mondays

"Making Your Home Sing Monday." It's a day when we share what we are doing to bless our families in our home. If you would like to join in, click here.

Well it's that time of year again where I need to update the girls chore charts. This is how I "Make My Home Sing!" week after week.  Chores are broken down by day for each girl. This helps them to know what they need to do around the house. This is beside making their bed, getting dress and brushing their teeth each mourning. It is placed into a clear page proctor along with a dry eraser maker. It is stored on the side of the refrigerator for easy excess. To make the from I use Edu Track (I can not say enough about how this product helps me not just with home schooling but with the running of my home!!!)

School was over at the end of April and now all the craziness that happens in our family the first few weeks of May has ended. FREEDOM!!

This week I am going to do some deep cleaning of our school room: end of year reports, reorganizing our books shelves and the closet. This is not what I really would like to spend my time doing; what I really want to do is go to the lake. But I know this must get done. Also I need to start doing lesson plans for July when we return back to a full day of school.

Also my daughter is in need of some much needed one on one time with mommy. I want to stop what I am going and hold her a little longer. Brush her hair and have some heart to heart talks with her. I am so blessed to be a mommy and so very blessed to be her mommy. A moment is a gift . . .

Roots ~ May they grow Deep

Lynn is hosting Thankful Thursday this week and she asks how wisdom changed your life.

Happy Birthday Lynn!!!

As a child we were afraid to run toward the ocean alone. We felt a sense of panic in solitude and reach for a parents hand. As we aged we turned toward friends for that reassurance. We are often let down by them, because we place the bar to high for them. As we grow also in Christ we hold each persons hand a little more loosely and not see him or her as our main source of security.  God tells us not to trust people, not because He is unkind, but because He cares so deeply for us. He exhorts us to put out roots down deeply into Him, and Him alone.  This was taken from my bible study I am doing.

Lord, I am so thankful for the tugging that you do on my heart. Please continue to help me to grow closer to you. May I be still, that I might hear you call me by name. Guide and direct my path and help my roots to grow deep into You, and You alone.

Making your Home sing Mondays: "May Mommy Maddness"

Making your home sing Mondays
Today's is the day when we share what we are doing to bless our families in our home. If you would like to join in, click here.

I am in the middle of May Mommy Madness at my Home. Here is what our schedule has or will look like over an 18 day period.
  • April 28th = last day of Timothy Ministry's (I teach 3 classes there)
  • April 30th = Last day of school for us :)
  • May 1st = GHEA (our state home school convention)
  • May2nd & 3rd = came home sick/spent the weekend in bed
  • May 4th = piano
  • May 5th = ITBS am / Finale Dance Recital practice
  • May 6th = ITBS
  • May 7th = Dance Recital
  • May 8th = Friday Ladies Bible Study & Grocery Shopping
  • May 9th = Dinner w/neighbors
  • May 10th = Mother's Day (relaxing and wonderful)
  • May 11th = Piano
  • May 12th = Chorus/ Piano Recital (make brownies  to take with us)
  • May 13th = Make refreshments for Chorus & Ladies Bible Study
  • May 14th = Chorus Recital
  • May 15th = Daughter's Birthday / Friday Ladies Bible Study
So I am always going and doing something the first half of May that is feels like I am a coach for college basketball team in the middle of "March Madness's!" To make my home sing I have to try not to go ODC on my family when it comes to my house being clean. If you walked in you would see that my floors are a little dirtier, the school room is a mess & stacks of books are everywhere. I also have another stack of history books by my chair that I have been looking over. There is some majoring ironing that needs to be done. I could go on and on . . .

I have to let it go . . . this is so hard for me to do!!!  But it blesses my home and my family when mommy isn't freaking out about the house being dirty. We have spent time in between of our comings and goings just chilling together. That time is what is so special and makes my home sing :)! Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my ramblings . . I pray that you have a blessed Monday and that you to are able to make your home sing too.

Prayer . . . America's Hope

There is much to be thankful for, I am so thankful for prayer. Prayer is a  powerful gift that God has given us.  Prayer is our direct line to GOD. Today is the 58th Annual National Day of Prayer.  The theme for this year is "Prayer... America's Hope" and is based on the verse from Psalm 33:22 which states: "May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you."

Making your home sing Mondays

Welcome to my first ever
"Making Your Home Sing Monday"  post.
A NEW dear friend of mine over at:

has turn me on to this mems. I so enjoyed reading her blog . . . she is a great encourager.

Have you ever had a time in your life where you heard God tell you the direction you should take but because of the control you like to have you choose not to obey? Well a little over a mouth ago I was at that cross road and this time I choose to obey God!!!

I am in a season where my family needs me 100% all the time. My oldest daughter is at the age where everything and everyone makes a lasting impression on her. I would love her to keep the rose color glasses on as long as she can.  Spending more time playing dress up, having tea parties and being the sweet little girl she has always been.  I would like to have more one on one time with her. Her sister is 2 1/2 years younger and in need of much of the same. I would like to start having personal bible studies with each of them weekly and continue our daily bible studies together. My husband has watch me face CANCER back in December and is in need of having more one on one time. I am in need of everything above . . . and more! :)

So this coming school year we will not be at Timothy Ministry. We have loved the last 7 years with them and have been blessed by so many different classes. I look at next year as a year to take more family trips and work more on our home skills (cooking, cleaning, sewing).

I received PEACE as soon as I gave up my control. A NEW excitement as come over me as I start to plan for the 09/10 school year.

Thanks for taking the time to visit me and letting me ramble on.

Resting in HIS arms,
Trina
